We hope for a viable and durable solution to the persistent social, economic and political deadlock in our country.

Whether it is a coincidence or not, we deeply thank our valued Elders for their vital, humanitarian response to our: http://www.theelders.org/feeditem/rc-revolcongo-1
When I (Pacifique Sukisa-Makasi) met Elder Mary Robinson I kind of joked, telling her that I wished she could be among the wise people to lead the national and International’s efforts to finding a viable solution to our country’s social, political and economical deadlock.
However, I was very serious when I told her that. Elder Mary Robinson’s appointment by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as the new Special Envoy for the Great Lakes region of Africa is nothing else to me but my answered prayer and that has strengthened my faith in God and hopes for a near future peaceful, stable and prosperous DR Congo for all who live in it, all who visit it and who invest or shall invest in it.

I will never stop thanking the Nelson Mandela Foundation which invited me to the 10th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture which was delivered by Elder Mary Robinson and through which I met Elder Mary Robinson.

May God continues to watching over you and May He give you more wisdom as you remain committed to building a better world.
